Top 7 Best Shoes for Wedding Photographers

(Updated September 2023) When you’re on your feet all day, the quality of your shoes is important. When you’re also a wedding photographer, style plays a role into shoe selection. We’ve got to look the part and feel comfortable doing our jobs. After photographing dozens of weddings, I personally tend to lean more into comfort than style. This is because it’s most important to me to do my job to the best of my abilities and I can’t quite do that if my feet/back are aching due to my shoes. Here are my top shoe recommendations for photographing weddings:

Wedding Photographer Shoe Recommendations

  1. Dr. Scholl’s Everyday Sneaker in White Leather (Pictured above - these are my go-tos! They clean well after every wedding. I wear them all day and my feet don’t hurt. Plus you can dress up or down. I wear these with dresses at summer weddings.)

  2. Kelly & Katie Aerin Loafer (Good for summer weddings, size down.)

  3. Gucci Ace Sneakers (This is definitely an investment piece in your wardrobe. Super spendy. These are if you want comfort but want to dress it up a notch and make a statement. P.S. You didn’t hear it from me but you can always try a dupe on DHGate if these are out of your budget.)

  4. Miller Water Resistant Chelsea Boot (These are my go-to for fall and winter weddings. I’m convinced I could run a half-marathon in these and still be fine.)

  5. Dr. Scholl’s Black Buckle Flat (I don’t own these but if you need a dressier flat option, I trust the Dr. Scholl’s brand.)

  6. Dr. Martens Platform Sandals (I don’t own these but they’re very popular.)

  7. Soul Naturalizer Ballet Flat (I don’t own these but if you’re more of a ballet flat girly I’ve heard great things.)
