Trends to Watch in 2023
Slip Dresses for Bridesmaids - Along with other 90’s trends, slip dresses are set to be in. The trend of mismatched bridesmaid dresses will also continue but with a step further. Think different colors, patterns, styles, etc.
Sweeps of Bright Colors - A recent luxury wedding trend has been the classic white/cream and black color palette. Think of this but add a bright pop of color (pink, green, purple) within the flowers, stationary, and wedding details.
Luxury Details on Wedding Stationery - Luxury seems to be an overall trend in upcoming weddings, even before the wedding itself happens. For wedding stationery we’ll be seeing personalized stickers, decorative postage stamps, calligraphy lettering and wax seals.
Non-Traditional Veils - As a photographer, I’m loving this one. We are welcoming brides finding their own style through their dress and now their veils. For example, different lengths and designs within the veils. A super cool way to add your own touch on your wedding day look.
Sequins and Embellishments - Another example of embracing your unique wedding day look. A classic wedding dress may be elevated even more by adding a tasteful touch of sequins and embellishments throughout.
Unique Wedding Dress Sleeves - Another place to add those embellishments, we’re seeing an emphasis on sleeves this next year. See-thru, lace, or removable sleeves are all options to give you a truly unique look.
Candid Photos - Loving this trend too! Celebrity weddings have recently seen an uptick in editorial style. We’ll be seeing more candid, natural light photos, rather than overly posed photos, which is exactly my style. To learn more about my photography style, check here or reach out with questions!
Themed Bachelorette Parties - Another trend happening outside of the wedding day itself, bachelorette parties will continue to have overall themes. While this can seem elaborate, it doesn’t have to be! Think about incorporating whatever the bride loves! I’ve seen Bachelorette parties centered around the Bride’s favorite TV show, movie, or drink.
TikTok Trends - TikTok will continue to be a huge social media player in planning a wedding. Not only can you find a lot of trends on the platform, some social media savvy brides love to make specific TikTok videos or dances and feature them throughout the wedding planning process.
Audio Guest Books - This one is so cool! Gone are the days of traditional guest books people can write in. After the Tone provides a cute vintage phone that will make audio recordings of your guests. All they have to do is pick up the phone and leave a voicemail. What a fun and playful version of a guest book!
